Editorial Policy

TreatCompare is an independent healthcare price comparison platform. This policy describes how we maintain editorial independence, clinical accuracy, and transparency across all content published on the site.

Last updated: May 2026

Informational purpose

TreatCompare publishes healthcare pricing, access and provider-comparison information for consumer research. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, prescribing, treatment recommendations or insurance advice. Users should verify prices, eligibility, clinical suitability and coverage directly with providers, clinicians or insurers.

Independence

TreatCompare is editorially independent. No provider pays for inclusion on the site, and no provider pays for ranking, featured placement, or preferential positioning in comparison tables. All providers are ranked by price by default, with the lower-cost verified provider appearing first.

Ranking methodology

The default sort order for all comparison tables is price ascending (lower-cost first). Users can change the sort order using the filters provided. No provider can pay to influence their position in the default ranking.

Commercial relationships

TreatCompare may earn referral fees from some providers when users click through to their websites. This commercial relationship does not influence rankings, inclusion decisions, or editorial content. Providers that pay referral fees are ranked in exactly the same way as providers that do not.

Editorial content

Guide articles and editorial content published on TreatCompare are written independently. Content is reviewed for factual accuracy before publication. No provider reviews or approves editorial content before it is published. If we discover an error in published content, we correct it promptly and note the update date.

How data-led content is produced and reviewed

TreatCompare pages are produced from structured datasets, provider-published prices, official public sources and manual editorial review. Healthcare and financial decision pages are checked for source quality, limitations and clear caveats before publication. Where a clinician, GP or specialist has reviewed a page, that reviewer is shown on the page; we do not claim clinical review where it has not happened.

  • Treatment pages are cross-referenced against NICE guidance, MHRA data, and NHS published information
  • IVF eligibility tools reference published ICB commissioning policies from GOV.UK
  • Medication pricing pages reference GPhC and MHRA regulatory data
  • Side effects data is sourced from the MHRA Yellow Card scheme
  • Success rate data is sourced from HFEA (UK) and ANZARD (Australia)
  • Where clinical uncertainty exists, we state this clearly and advise users to consult a qualified healthcare professional
