What we do
Treatcompare is an independent UK private healthcare price comparison service. We help patients compare prices for treatments including weight loss injections, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), laser eye surgery, and more. We are not affiliated with any provider, pharmacy, or clinic. Our goal is to make it easier for people to find transparent, comparable pricing from verified UK healthcare providers.
How we verify providers
Every provider listed on Treatcompare is verified against the relevant UK regulatory register before their prices appear on the site. We check:
- 1GPhC Register — All pharmacies are checked against the General Pharmaceutical Council pharmacy register to confirm they hold a valid registration.
- 2CQC Register — Healthcare services are verified against the Care Quality Commission register to ensure they are regulated and inspected.
- 3GMC Register — Clinics led by doctors are checked against the General Medical Council medical register.
Providers that cannot be verified or whose registration has lapsed are removed from listings. We re-check registrations periodically and flag any providers whose status changes.
How we collect prices
Prices are collected automatically from provider websites using our scraping infrastructure. We track publicly displayed prices and record them alongside details of what is included (such as consultation, monitoring, prescriber access, and blood tests).
Price data is updated regularly — in most cases daily for weight loss medications. Every price point is time-stamped so you can see when it was last checked. We also run automated outlier detection to flag prices that appear unusually high or low, which are then manually reviewed before being displayed.
Our editorial independence
No provider pays for placement, ranking, or featured positioning on Treatcompare. Listing order is determined by price by default — the cheapest verified provider appears first. We do not accept payment from providers to influence their position in comparison tables. Our editorial content is produced independently and is not reviewed or approved by any provider before publication.
